You’ve seen the biggest and most expensive boats. You’ve seen the makeshift boats made with plastic barrels. Now, we bring you the worlds fastest pontoon boat! For those who don’t know, a pontoon is a flotation device with buoyancy sufficient to float itself as well as a heavy load.
These things are awesome!
These pontoons, or “tubes” for short, contain a lot of reserve buoyancy and allow designers to create massive deck plans fitted with all sorts of accommodations, such as expansive lounge areas, stand-up bars, and sun pads. Pontoon boats for pleasure boating and fishing can be low cost for their capacity, and cheaper to insure than other boats, even when equipped with substantial engines.
This baby screams in the water!
Brad Rowland, owner of the pontoon, dubbed the speedster “Tooned In”. Rowland brought his boat to the Lake of Ozark’s Shootout and won first place in their competition. He got the pontoon to break the world record at 114 miles per hour! His 25 footer 2010 South Bay triple pontoon is equipped with three Mercury Max 300x engines. That’s just plain ridiculous! What is even more crazy is that Brad hopes to be able to get it up to 200 miles per hour in the near future!
