If you’re into bodybuilding, you really can’t miss this post by Max Rutcofsky on Muscle & Fitness. It’s got a few pictures of some of the unpleasant things that happen to people when they start using synthol to make their muscles look bigger.

Synthol is a site enhancement oil (SEO) that some people use to make their muscles look much bigger than they really are. This chemical is 85 percent oil, 7.5 percent benzyl alcohol and 7.5 percent lidocaine.

Lidocaine is a medication used to make tissue numb. It’s actually a type of anesthetic, and it’s used in SEO to dull the pain of having a large amount of oil injected into such a small space. This nasty stuff can actually turn muscle into a rock-like mass that can be so bad that the limb has to be amputated. Not only is it dangerous, it also makes users look abnormal and monstrous.

I remember the doctor told me that they would need to amputate both arms—they said everything in there, all my muscles, were rock,”

I don’t take synthol. I was taking propionate and Equipoise into the muscle itself. Synthol just works one way: it stretches the fascia. With Equipoise and propionate you get the double whammy. You get the stretch from the oil plus you get the localized growth from the drugs themselves.”
